Submit a comment in support of the EPA’s proposed regulations for Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Fossil Fuel-Fired Electric Generating Units!
Catholic Climate Covenant and its partners stand in support of the EPA’s proposed rule to create emission guidelines for power plants. The rule would reduce carbon emissions by more than one thousand million metric tons by 2042, which is equivalent to the carbon emissions of transportation vehicles each year in the United States. The rule would also remove tens of thousands of tons of particulate matter, sulfur dioxides, and nitrous oxides which detrimentally impact the health of human beings and the environment.
In the words of Pope Francis, “What kind of world do we want to leave to those who come after us, to children who are now growing up?” (Laudato Si’ 160) We need to collectively stand up, united by faith in defense of the common good of all, and support climate solutions that will have an impact on lasting generations.
We humbly ask you to submit a comment in support of the EPA’s proposed regulations for Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Fossil Fuel-Fired Electric Generating Units (EPA-HQ-OAR-2023-0072) using your moral voice for justice from the perspective of your Catholic faith.
